Thematic paragraph : The sniper.Vs.The movie Columbiana

There was a great loss of innocence and a war within each of these characters circle. In the movie "Columbiana" produced by Luc Besson and directed by Oliver Megaton, and the story "The Sniper" written by Liam O'Flanhert have a really strong thematic connection. In the short story "The Sniper" the main character loses his innocence right when he killed his brother, and in "Columbiana" she loses her innocence because her dad Fabio got into a fight with one of the biggest drug dealers in town by the name of Don Luis and he killed Catalaya's parents in front of her. In "The Sniper" the sniper was laying on the rooftop until another gunman shot at him when he first seen his head, the sniper had no choice but to shoot back, he shot his innocence and without him knowing him and his brother were having a war within themselves. It was not something done coincidentally but it had a huge impact on him. In "Columbiana" Catalaya (Zoe Zaldana) witnesses her father and mother getting killed by Don Luis so he can get a unknown item which is a chip hes looking for, so Catalaya was told by her parents to sit on the kitchen table and handed her a knife. Catalaya sat there until Don Luis came and tried to convince her it was Fabio's fault so she stabbed him in the hand and ran away and jumped into a water sewer. In both stories the loss of innocence occurred when both killings took place, and it was also considered a war in between these characters."The Sniper" and "Columbiana" have a strong thematic connection because of the two main point which happen in both stories which is the loss of innocence and the war within each other. In "The Sniper" before and after he shot his own brother the narrator described him as a cold man "His eyes had the cold gleam of the fanatic. They were deep and thoughtful, the eyes of a man used to looking at death." which gave the readers a image of "The Sniper being a ordinary cold  sniper used to looking at death. Also in "Columbiana" there is still a thematic connection due to Catalaya losing her innocence by running away from the child services once they handed her her passport so she can run to her uncle Emilio so he can help her practice becoming a good killer which lead her on to turning into a deadly assassin. The outcome of these two stories where both death and a lot of lost emotions. in "The Sniper" when he finds out the man he shot a few minutes before was his brother he feels lost and guilty. In "Columbiana" Catalaya goes on killing different people due to her parents death and Emilio training and preparing her to become a smart killer. In both side it really did affect everyone and the environment around them. All in all in both stories lives has been lost and there was a great amount of innocence lost and cold wars in between a certain amount of people which lead to guild and death.
